Burl Hamilton is a retired business man from southern Missouri whose successful career has spanned several decades — but his accomplishments in the corporate world are not the most important things in his life ...

... Rather, Burl defines his contribution to the world by how he helps others and spreads the love of Jesus. He and his late wife Lois began sponsoring children through Latin America ChildCare a number of years ago because of what they had witnessed in the 1960s when they drove from the U.S. with missionary friends through Mexico and into Central America.

They witnessed firsthand the poverty in each country, saw adults and children who suffered because of that poverty, and — when they visited a Christian home for impoverished children in Honduras — saw the difference that could be made when someone reached out in love.

Burl’s vision and compassion for needy children in Latin America remains a driving force in his life to this day; and as a result, he not only continues to sponsor children, but has worked with the Assemblies of God Financial Services Group to include Latin America ChildCare in his estate plan. When Burl goes on to be with the Lord, this testamentary gift will continue to bless children who desperately need the Lord.
